Psyched to share that I've successfully defended my master's thesis, "Navigating The Metaverse: The Relation Between Scale and Expertise In Spatial Knowledge Of Immersive And Desktop Virtual Reality," with no revisions!
With my advisor, Steven Weisberg, we investigated the connection between video game experience, mental representation scale, and immersion level. Participants navigated two large-scale virtual environments in both desktop and immersive VR, putting our hypotheses to the test.
Next up: Ph.D.! 🚀
I got awarded The Jacquelin Goldman Spring Scholarship by the University of Florida, Department of Psychology. This scholarship provides support for a doctoral student conducting research in the field of Developmental Psychology.
I will be conducting a meta-analysis on aging and navigation behavior in different modalities soon! 👩💻
I am thrilled to share that I was awarded a Graduate Conference Award for the Psychonomic Society's Annual Meeting this fall in San Francisco, California!
I will be presenting a poster titled "This Is Not The Way: Global Directional Cues Do Not Improve Spatial Navigation In An Immersive Virtual Environment".
I am looking forward to discussing science with researchers around the globe at this prestigious conference!
Please do stop by my poster if you want to learn how directional cues did not help our participants to learn a virtual environment layout in immersive VR!
I am delighted to share that I received a full scholarship for the Moving Boundaries Collaborative 2023 Italy course, directed by Tatiana Berger. I will be traveling to Italy in December to meet incredible faculty and attendees to discuss human sciences and the future of architecture!
This program in Venice, Italy, offers an intensive two-week course on the interface between disciplines concerned with the design of the built environment and scientific disciplines concerned with human perception and behavior.
I also received a Graduate Student Travel Award from my department to support my attendance (which every grad student would need!).
I am beyond excited to discover the interaction between my two bachelors and how we can implement VR to further evidence-based design!
Glad to share that I have been selected to receive a Certificate of Outstanding Merit from the University of Florida International Center for International Student Achievement Awards 2022.
The awards were established to highlight the accomplishments and contributions of international students at the University of Florida.
